You will collaborate with controls, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver reliable robot behaviors for welding, sealing, painting, assembly, and metrology. This role emphasizes production-grade robotics engineering: safety-rated operation, uptime, traceable testing, and continuous improvement across global plants and vendors. Responsibilities: - Build and maintain robotics software modules (ROS2 nodes, drivers, middleware) for industrial robot applications. - Implement motion planning and trajectory generation with collision checking, constraints, and cycle-time optimization. - Develop perception components for robot guidance and inspection using computer vision, calibration, and sensor fusion. - Integrate robotics systems with PLCs, SCADA/MES interfaces, and industrial networks (OPC UA/EtherNet/IP/PROFINET as applicable). - Define acceptance tests and validation plans: repeatability, accuracy, takt time, fault recovery, and safety behaviors. - Diagnose field issues using logs, traces, and on-line telemetry; implement robust error handling and recovery. - Produce engineering documentation: interfaces, configuration management, and change control for production deployments. Qualifications: - Mid-Senior experience in robotics engineering for industrial automation or automotive manufacturing. - Strong robotics fundamentals: kinematics, dynamics, controls, motion planning, calibration, and state estimation. - Proficiency in C++ and/or Python; experience with ROS2 is strongly preferred. - Experience with industrial robot programming and integration (e.g., ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa, UR) or equivalent. - Working knowledge of functional safety concepts and safe robotics operation (risk assessment mindset). Nice to Have: - Experience with vision-guided robotics, 2D/3D sensors, and metrology/inspection pipelines. - Familiarity with simulation and digital twins (Gazebo/Isaac Sim/MoveIt/industrial simulators). - Exposure to ML-enabled perception, dataset curation, labeling strategy, and evaluation for vision models.
