What You Will Work On

Design and implement robotics software for healthcare workflows (navigation, manipulation, task execution, and monitoring) with production-grade reliability. Develop perception pipelines using computer vision and sensor fusion (RGB-D, LiDAR, IMU) to support localization, mapping, and obstacle avoidance. Build motion planning and control modules for safe operation around patients and staff, including speed/force limits and fail-safe behavior. Create simulation-first development loops (Gazebo/Ignition, Isaac Sim, Unity, or equivalent) to accelerate iteration and reduce risk. Define test plans and validation metrics for real-world deployment, including latency, accuracy, uptime, and recovery behavior. Instrument systems for observability (logs, traces, health checks) and contribute to incident response and root-cause analysis. Collaborate with QA and product stakeholders to translate clinical requirements into engineering specs, acceptance criteria, and release gates. Document architecture, interfaces, and operating procedures to support safe deployment and maintainability.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience shipping robotics or autonomous systems in production or near-production environments. Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++ with solid software engineering practices (code review, testing, CI). Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS2, robotics middleware, and common robotics tools. Experience with perception (computer vision), SLAM/localization, and/or motion planning. Comfort with Linux development environments and hardware/software integration. Ability to communicate clearly in a distributed, remote team environment with strong written documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with medical devices, clinical environments, regulated development practices, or safety standards. Experience with robotic manipulation, grasp planning, force/torque control, or human-robot interaction. Experience deploying to edge/embedded platforms (NVIDIA Jetson, ARM, real-time constraints).
