You will translate production requirements into robotic cell architectures, integrate PLC and HMI/SCADA controls, validate motion paths and cycle times, and drive reliability improvements using root-cause analysis and preventive maintenance strategies. The work spans commissioning support, IO and fieldbus integration, safety risk assessment, and continuous optimization to improve OEE, throughput, and quality. You will partner with plant engineering, system integrators, and OEM vendors to ensure robust deployments and clean handoffs to operations. Key responsibilities: - Develop and maintain robot programs for handling, welding, palletizing, assembly, and machine tending applications - Integrate robots with PLCs, safety PLCs, sensors, and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, DeviceNet as applicable) - Implement and validate safety circuits and compliance practices (risk assessments, interlocks, E-stops, guarding) - Support commissioning, SAT/FAT test plans, and production ramp with structured troubleshooting and documentation - Improve cycle time, path planning, and cell utilization using simulation, offline programming, and motion tuning - Build standards for code versioning, backup/restore, change control, and maintenance procedures across sites - Collaborate with vision teams to deploy inspection and guidance solutions (2D/3D cameras, lighting, calibration) Required qualifications: - 4+ years in industrial automation or robotics engineering with hands-on robot programming experience - Strong PLC fundamentals (ladder logic/structured text) and integration with robot controllers - Experience with at least one major robot OEM (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa/Motoman) - Ability to diagnose electrical, controls, and mechanical integration issues using structured methods - Working knowledge of industrial safety principles, guarding, lockout/tagout, and risk reduction practices Preferred qualifications: - Offline programming and simulation experience (e.g., RoboGuide, RobotStudio, Process Simulate, KUKA.Sim) - ROS or modern robotics software exposure for advanced integration use cases - Machine vision integration experience (Cognex/Keyence or equivalent) and calibration workflows - Experience supporting multi-site rollouts, standardization, and documentation at scale How you will be evaluated: - Uptime and reliability improvements, reduced MTTR, and fewer repeat failures - Cycle time reduction and stable, safe operation across shifts - Quality outcomes (defect reduction, repeatable positioning, robust vision results) - Documentation quality and commissioning readiness for plant handoff Work environment and schedule: - Remote role marked Remote; periodic coordination with Mexico-based stakeholders may be required - Full-time schedule aligned to manufacturing support windows and project milestones Apply on Rex.zone to be considered for Mexico-focused industrial robotics engineering programs.
