Job Title

Manufacturing Robotics Engineer Metadata: Date: 25-02-2026 | Company: Rexzone | Country: US | Remote Type: Remote | Employment Type: FULL_TIME | Experience Level: Mid-Senior | Industry: Technology | Job Function: Engineering | Skills: Industrial robotics, PLC programming, Robot programming, Machine vision, ROS, Controls engineering, Factory automation, Motion control, Safety standards, Commissioning and validation | Salary Currency: USD | Salary Min: 63360 | Salary Max: 126720 | Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

You will design, program, and support manufacturing robotics systems used in automated production cells. This includes robot application development (pick-and-place, welding, palletizing, machine tending), PLC/HMI integration, machine vision inspection, and end-of-line testing. You will own commissioning plans, debug issues remotely with on-site teams, and deliver documentation that meets manufacturing change control, safety compliance, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

You will: define automation requirements and cell specifications; develop robot programs, tool frames, and trajectories for cycle-time improvement; integrate PLC logic, safety I/O, and interlocks; configure machine vision and sensor feedback loops; perform simulation, dry-run, FAT/SAT, and commissioning; create SOPs, maintenance guides, and troubleshooting playbooks; analyze downtime and scrap data to drive continuous improvement; coordinate with vendors on end effector design, guarding, and safety validation; implement version control, backups, and change tracking for robot and PLC code; ensure compliance with industrial safety practices (risk assessment, lockout/tagout, safety-rated devices).

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience in industrial automation or manufacturing robotics. Hands-on robot programming and debugging in production environments. Strong fundamentals in controls engineering, motion control, and electrical troubleshooting. Practical experience integrating robots with PLCs, sensors, and safety systems. Ability to write clear commissioning documentation, test protocols, and change requests.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with machine vision inspection, camera calibration, and lighting design. Familiarity with ROS or modern robotics software stacks used for cell orchestration and data capture. Background in lean manufacturing, OEE improvement, and root-cause analysis (5 Whys, fishbone). Exposure to collaborative robots, force/torque sensing, and adaptive motion. Experience supporting multi-site deployments and standardized automation templates.

Tools and Workflows You Will Use

Industrial robot programming environments, PLC development tools, motion and safety configuration, simulation and offline programming, machine vision toolchains, commissioning checklists, FAT/SAT protocols, issue tracking, and documentation templates for manufacturing change control. You will work with cross-functional stakeholders to align cell design, throughput targets, and quality gates.

How Success Is Measured

Improved cycle time and throughput; reduced downtime and faster mean time to recovery; stable safety compliance with completed risk assessments; higher first-pass yield and fewer defects; repeatable deployments through standardized code, documentation, and commissioning playbooks.

Who This Role Is For

Engineers who enjoy building reliable automation under real manufacturing constraints—safety, uptime, and quality. You can move from requirements to working systems, communicate clearly with production teams, and thrive in iterative debugging and validation.
