About the Role

You will own engineering tasks that support manufacturing robotics programs for production lines associated with Querétaro-based operations and partners. You will develop and maintain robot cell concepts, support robot programming standards, and coordinate with controls, mechanical, quality, and safety stakeholders. Work is remote-first, emphasizing offline programming, virtual commissioning, simulation validation, and structured documentation so onsite teams can execute reliably. You will contribute to throughput improvement, downtime reduction, and repeatable deployment patterns across multiple manufacturing cells.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver robot cell designs and integration plans aligned to takt time and cycle time targets; create and maintain robot programs, job backups, and change control artifacts; support PLC-to-robot handshakes, IO mapping, and network architecture (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, OPC UA as applicable); develop and validate machine vision and sensor integration approaches for pick-and-place, inspection, and guidance; ensure compliance with functional safety and industrial safety standards (risk assessment inputs, guarding, interlocks, safety PLC interfaces); execute offline programming, simulation, and digital twin verification to reduce onsite commissioning time; create commissioning checklists, acceptance criteria, and run-at-rate support documentation; analyze production logs, alarms, and downtime to drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

Mid-senior experience in industrial automation, manufacturing robotics, or system integration; proficiency in robot programming concepts (frames, tool data, motion, I/O, fault recovery) and structured debugging; working knowledge of PLC integration, industrial networking, and basic controls troubleshooting; experience with machine vision fundamentals (lighting, camera calibration, feature detection) and integration in manufacturing environments; understanding of safety practices for robot cells and manufacturing equipment; strong documentation discipline for commissioning, change control, and production support; ability to collaborate asynchronously in remote engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with offline programming and simulation tools for robot cells; familiarity with digital twin workflows, virtual commissioning, and automated test plans; exposure to MES/SCADA data flows, OEE tracking, and production analytics; experience standardizing reusable automation modules across multiple lines or sites; background supporting automotive, aerospace, electronics, or consumer goods manufacturing.

Tools and Workflows

Robotics: industrial robot programming standards, recovery routines, and cycle-time tuning; Controls: PLC integration, IO checkouts, alarms, and interlocks; Vision: camera setup, calibration, inspection and guidance strategies; Safety: risk assessment inputs, safety device verification, functional safety interfaces; Delivery: simulation validation, structured commissioning documentation, and run-at-rate support; Collaboration: remote reviews, versioned artifacts, and clear handoffs to onsite commissioning teams.
