About the Role

Build and maintain robotics capabilities for mining-grade autonomy and remote operations, including perception pipelines, localization, mapping, planning, and controls. You will translate field requirements into robust software and system designs, validate performance with simulation and on-vehicle testing, and deliver measurable improvements in safety, availability, and productivity.

What You Will Do

You will design autonomy components (perception, localization, SLAM, motion planning), integrate multi-sensor stacks (LiDAR, cameras, IMU, GNSS), and ship production-ready robotics software. You will create test plans, run simulation-driven validation, analyze telemetry, triage failures, and implement mitigations for dust, vibration, low-visibility, and GPS-denied conditions common in mining. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and operations partners to ensure safe deployment, including safety interlocks, fault handling, and operational procedures for remote or supervised autonomy.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics or autonomous systems in production environments. Strong C++ and Python skills on Linux, experience with ROS/ROS2 and common robotics middleware patterns, and hands-on knowledge of SLAM, sensor fusion, calibration, and motion planning. Ability to define engineering requirements, write clear technical documentation, and work effectively in distributed remote teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with mining, construction, agriculture, or other off-road autonomy domains; familiarity with functional safety concepts (hazard analysis, safety cases, fail-safe design); experience with simulation tools (Gazebo, Isaac Sim) and hardware-in-the-loop testing; knowledge of networking and edge compute constraints; exposure to CI/CD for robotics and reproducible experiments.

Work Environment and Remote Collaboration

This is a Remote role supporting US-based operations. You will collaborate across time zones using modern engineering practices—design reviews, structured incident response, and reproducible testing. Periodic optional field validation support may be coordinated when needed for specific deployment milestones.
