About Rex.zone

Rex.zone is a platform for discovering and applying to remote, full-time roles across modern engineering domains. We partner with technology teams building automation robotics products and services, including robotics software, perception, navigation, control systems, and scalable deployment pipelines.

What You Will Do

You will develop robotics software components and production integrations, including: robot application development in ROS/ROS2; implementing perception and localization modules; integrating cameras, LiDAR, IMU, encoders, and industrial IO; building motion planning and control loops; validating performance in simulation and on hardware; creating test plans for safety and reliability; and collaborating on system architecture, release engineering, and field troubleshooting.

Core Responsibilities

Design and implement robot behaviors and autonomy modules; develop and tune motion planning, navigation, and control; build sensor fusion pipelines for localization and mapping; integrate hardware drivers and interfaces; write automated tests, CI checks, and regression suites; instrument telemetry, logs, and metrics for debugging; support production deployments and iterative improvements; document architecture, interfaces, and operating procedures.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics or automation systems; strong programming in C++ and Python; hands-on experience with ROS/ROS2 nodes, topics, services, and TF; practical understanding of kinematics, dynamics, and control; familiarity with SLAM, localization, and sensor fusion; experience with simulation tools (e.g., Gazebo) and debugging distributed systems; ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with computer vision for robotics, calibration, and perception; familiarity with industrial automation and safety practices; containerization and deployment with Docker; performance optimization and real-time constraints; experience integrating with cloud services or fleet management; familiarity with CI/CD, reproducible builds, and observability.

Tools, Tech Stack, and Workflow

Common tools include ROS/ROS2, C++, Python, Linux, Git, Gazebo simulation, Docker containers, and robotics middleware. You will follow engineering best practices such as code review, test automation, structured incident debugging, repeatable deployments, and clear interface documentation.

Remote Work Expectations

This is a Remote, FULL_TIME role based in the US. You will work with distributed teams across time zones, attend recurring engineering syncs, and maintain strong documentation and asynchronous communication. Hardware access may be provided via lab environments, remote test rigs, or scheduled onsite sessions depending on project needs.

Compensation

Salary range is USD 63360 to USD 126720 per YEAR, depending on skills, scope, and relevant robotics delivery experience.

How to Apply on Rex.zone
