About the Role

As a Robotics Engineer, you will build and improve robot capabilities across perception, localization, mapping, planning, and control. You will translate product requirements into robot behaviors, integrate sensors (LiDAR, camera, IMU), and ship software that performs in noisy real-world environments. The work includes simulation-first development, hardware bring-up, automated testing, and performance profiling to raise autonomy reliability and reduce failure modes.

What You Will Do

Develop and maintain robot software modules using ROS/ROS2 nodes, services, and actions. Implement and tune perception pipelines (camera/LiDAR), tracking, and sensor fusion for robust state estimation. Design motion planning and control loops (trajectory generation, path planning, PID/MPC tuning) for safe navigation. Build SLAM and localization components; improve map quality, loop closure stability, and drift performance. Create simulation scenarios and regression suites (Gazebo or equivalent) to validate autonomy changes before deployment. Conduct hardware-in-the-loop testing, log analysis, and root-cause investigations for field issues. Define and enforce engineering QA: coding standards, review practices, unit/integration tests, and CI/CD pipelines. Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and product teams on system integration and acceptance criteria. Document architecture, interfaces, calibration procedures, and operational runbooks for production support.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics or autonomy features to production or deployed prototypes. Strong C++ and Python skills for robotics software development on Linux. Hands-on ROS/ROS2 experience including message design, TF frames, and debugging distributed systems. Solid fundamentals in kinematics, dynamics, controls, and motion planning. Experience with perception or state estimation: sensor fusion, SLAM, EKF/UKF, or visual-inertial methods. Comfort with Git workflows, code reviews, and automated testing in CI environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience deploying robots in industrial automation, warehousing, manufacturing, or autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). Computer vision experience (OpenCV, calibration, detection/segmentation, tracking) and/or LiDAR processing (PCL). Experience with real-time systems, embedded integration, or microcontrollers where applicable. Familiarity with safety concepts and reliability engineering for robotics deployments. Experience optimizing performance (profiling, memory, real-time constraints) and improving model/algorithm latency.

Tools and Workflows You Will Use

ROS/ROS2, RViz, rosbag/logging, TF, launch systems C++, Python, Linux, Git Simulation: Gazebo (or equivalent) and scenario-based testing Perception and math libraries: OpenCV, Eigen (as applicable) CI/CD pipelines for robotics software, automated testing and regression

Remote Work and Collaboration

This is a Remote, FULL_TIME role. You will coordinate across time zones using documented interfaces, async design reviews, and structured test plans. Expect regular checkpoints for integration readiness, release validation, and incident follow-ups tied to robot performance metrics.

Compensation

Salary Range: 63360–126720 USD per YEAR Compensation is based on experience, scope, and technical depth aligned to Mid-Senior expectations.

How to Apply on Rex.zone
