Title: Robotics Engineer Jobs Barranquilla Date: 25-02-2026 Company: Rexzone Country: US Remote Type: Remote Employment Type: FULL_TIME Experience Level: Mid-Senior Industry: Technology Job Function: Engineering Skills: ROS2, C++, Python, SLAM, Motion Planning, Control Systems, Sensor Fusion, Computer Vision, LiDAR, Path Planning, Gazebo, Hardware-in-the-Loop Testing Salary Currency: USD Salary Min: 63360 Salary Max: 126720 Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

As a Robotics Engineer, you will design and ship robotics capabilities from prototype to production, spanning perception, localization, mapping, planning, and control. You will work in a remote-first environment while partnering with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to integrate sensors and compute, tune controllers, and validate autonomy performance under real-world constraints. The role emphasizes robust engineering practices, repeatable testing, and measurable improvements in navigation accuracy, system latency, and safety behavior.

Key Responsibilities

You will own end-to-end robotics deliverables, including architecture decisions, implementation, testing, and deployment. Typical work includes developing ROS/ROS2 nodes, building simulation scenarios, implementing SLAM and sensor fusion pipelines, tuning motion planning and control loops, writing unit/integration tests, and debugging issues on robots via logs and telemetry. You will define acceptance criteria, contribute to safety and QA reviews, document interfaces, and collaborate across teams to ensure reliable field performance.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience building robotics software and deploying it to physical systems. Strong C++ and Python skills, practical ROS/ROS2 experience, and familiarity with real-time constraints, concurrency, and performance profiling. Experience with at least two of the following: SLAM, sensor fusion, computer vision, motion planning, path planning, control systems, or calibration. Comfortable with Linux development, Git-based workflows, and debugging using logs, bag files, and telemetry.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with autonomous navigation stacks, behavior trees, state estimation, and optimization-based planning. Familiarity with LiDAR/camera pipelines, calibration, and time synchronization. Exposure to simulation tooling (Gazebo/Ignition), hardware-in-the-loop testing, CI for robotics, and containerized deployments. Background in safety engineering, reliability testing, and field operations support.

Tools, Tech Stack, and Workflows

Common stacks include ROS/ROS2, C++/Python, Linux, Docker, and simulation environments. Work often involves SLAM and state estimation, sensor fusion across IMU/LiDAR/cameras, computer vision feature extraction, motion planning, trajectory generation, and closed-loop control. Quality workflows include regression tests, reproducible simulation benchmarks, log-based debugging, and performance metrics such as localization drift, planning success rate, compute utilization, and latency budgets.

Remote Work and Collaboration

This is a Remote, FULL_TIME role with structured collaboration across time zones. You will coordinate through engineering documentation, code reviews, sprint planning, and incident postmortems. When hardware access is required, you may collaborate with onsite operators using runbooks and remote debugging sessions, ensuring changes are validated safely before deployment.

Compensation

Salary range is USD 63360 to 126720 per YEAR, depending on experience, scope, and interview performance. Compensation may also include benefits aligned with company policy for remote full-time engineering roles.
