Robotics Engineer Jobs Bogotá — Remote (Full-Time)

Title: Robotics Engineer Jobs Bogotá Date: 25-02-2026 Company: Rexzone Country: US Remote Type: Remote Employment Type: FULL_TIME Experience Level: Mid-Senior Industry: Technology Job Function: Engineering Skills: ROS2, Robot Perception, SLAM, Sensor Fusion, Motion Planning, Control Systems, Computer Vision, C++, Python, Embedded Systems Salary Currency: USD Salary Min: 63360 Salary Max: 126720 Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

As a Robotics Engineer, you will build and improve end-to-end robotic capabilities—perception, localization, planning, and control—while ensuring robust performance under real-world constraints. You will develop ROS/ROS2 nodes, integrate sensors (camera, LiDAR, IMU), tune estimation and control loops, and validate autonomy behaviors in simulation and on hardware. You will also define test plans, debug field issues using logs and telemetry, and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to ship dependable robotic systems.

Key Responsibilities

You will design, implement, and maintain ROS/ROS2 software stacks for robotic platforms. You will develop perception and state estimation modules (e.g., visual-inertial odometry, SLAM, sensor calibration, sensor fusion). You will implement motion planning and control strategies (trajectory generation, MPC/PID tuning, collision checking, constraint handling). You will build simulation workflows (Gazebo/Ignition, Isaac, or similar) and improve sim-to-real reliability. You will create automated tests, regression pipelines, and performance benchmarks (latency, CPU/GPU usage, accuracy, stability). You will diagnose and resolve integration issues across hardware drivers, middleware, and application layers, using structured logs and profiling tools.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics software to production or field deployments. Strong programming skills in C++ and Python with solid software engineering practices (code review, CI, testing). Hands-on experience with ROS or ROS2, message/service/action patterns, and debugging distributed systems. Background in robotics fundamentals: kinematics/dynamics, estimation (Kalman/particle filters), planning, and feedback control. Experience integrating sensors such as cameras, LiDAR, IMU, wheel encoders, or depth sensors. Ability to communicate clearly across cross-functional teams and document system behavior, interfaces, and test results.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SLAM frameworks, mapping pipelines, and loop-closure optimization. Familiarity with computer vision and perception (OpenCV, feature tracking, object detection/segmentation) for robotics. Experience with embedded and real-time constraints (Linux, RT scheduling, hardware bring-up). Knowledge of safety engineering practices for robotics (fault handling, watchdogs, redundancy, safe state design). Experience with cloud robotics tooling, fleet management, or telemetry at scale. Exposure to industrial robotics, warehouse automation, mobile manipulation, or autonomous vehicles.

Tools and Tech Stack

Common tools include ROS/ROS2, C++/Python, Linux, Git, CI/CD, and profiling/debugging toolchains. Robotics platforms may include Gazebo/Ignition, Isaac Sim, RViz, rosbag, and middleware for sensor drivers. Algorithms may include SLAM, sensor fusion, motion planning (sampling-based or optimization-based), and control (PID/MPC).

How Success Is Measured

Success is measured by reliable robot behavior in target scenarios, stable localization and mapping quality, improved autonomy KPIs (tracking error, collision-free navigation rate, task success rate), and reduced runtime failures. You will be evaluated on the quality of engineering outputs (test coverage, maintainability), integration effectiveness, and operational performance under latency, compute, and environmental constraints.
