About the Role

As a Robotics Engineer, you will develop autonomy features and robotics software components for production and R&D systems. You will work across perception (computer vision, sensor fusion), localization and mapping (SLAM), planning (trajectory generation, obstacle avoidance), and control (PID/MPC where applicable), ensuring robust behavior in real-world environments. You will contribute to system architecture, integrate hardware drivers, and validate performance through simulation (Gazebo/Ignition) and on-robot testing.

Key Responsibilities

You will design and implement ROS2 nodes, message interfaces, and lifecycle-managed components; build and tune motion planning pipelines for mobile robots and/or manipulators; implement and improve localization, mapping, and navigation stacks (e.g., SLAM, EKF/UKF-based fusion, Nav2 configurations); integrate cameras, IMUs, LiDAR, encoders, and actuators with reliable timestamping and calibration; develop simulation environments and test harnesses to support simulation-to-real transfer; optimize real-time performance, profiling CPU/GPU use and minimizing latency; create CI-friendly tests (unit, integration, hardware-in-the-loop when available) and produce clear engineering documentation.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience building robotics systems in production or advanced prototypes; strong C++ and Python for robotics software development; hands-on ROS/ROS2 experience, including TF, URDF/Xacro, rosbag, and debugging distributed systems; practical knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, and control systems; experience with motion planning and navigation concepts (trajectory optimization, collision checking, costmaps); familiarity with sensor fusion and state estimation; ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team with high ownership.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Gazebo/Ignition, Isaac Sim, or other robotics simulators; knowledge of computer vision pipelines (OpenCV, camera models, calibration) and/or LiDAR processing; experience with embedded Linux, real-time constraints, and hardware interfacing; familiarity with safety considerations, fail-safes, and field reliability practices; exposure to industrial automation, warehouse robotics, AMRs, drones, or manipulation.

Tools and Tech Stack

ROS2, C++, Python, Linux, Git, Docker; motion planning and navigation frameworks; simulation environments (Gazebo/Ignition or equivalent); perception toolkits (OpenCV and related libraries); profiling and logging for robotics; CI pipelines for automated testing.

How You Will Be Evaluated

Code quality and maintainability in robotics modules; measurable improvements in robot behavior such as navigation robustness, planning success rate, localization stability, and control smoothness; reliability under sensor noise, occlusions, and dynamic environments; test coverage and reproducibility of results in simulation and on hardware; clarity of documentation and collaboration in remote execution.
