About the Role

You will develop and ship robotics capabilities across the autonomy stack: perception, localization, mapping, planning, and control. The work spans algorithm development, software architecture, hardware integration, and field testing to ensure robust behavior in dynamic environments. You will collaborate with product, safety, and QA to translate requirements into validated robotic behaviors, improve training and evaluation pipelines for perception models, and harden systems for production deployments.

What You’ll Work On

Core robotics software in ROS2 (nodes, message interfaces, lifecycle management), perception pipelines (camera/LiDAR/IMU integration), SLAM and localization, motion planning and trajectory generation, control loops and tuning, simulation-to-real workflows (Gazebo/Isaac Sim), logging/telemetry, regression tests, and performance profiling. You will also contribute to system-level integration with embedded compute, networking, and safety constraints.

Responsibilities

Design and implement robotics modules for perception, localization, and planning; integrate sensors and calibrate multi-sensor setups; develop sensor fusion and state estimation; build and maintain simulation environments and test harnesses; define and execute validation plans for autonomy behaviors; improve reliability through monitoring, fault handling, and recovery behaviors; document interfaces and operational procedures; partner with cross-functional teams to deliver milestones on time.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience shipping robotics or autonomous systems; strong Python and C++ skills; production experience with ROS2; practical understanding of SLAM, state estimation, and sensor fusion; experience with motion planning and control systems; familiarity with computer vision pipelines; ability to debug distributed robotic systems using logs, bag files, and profiling tools; strong engineering fundamentals and test-driven development habits.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with navigation stacks (Nav2), real-time constraints, and embedded Linux; familiarity with hardware bring-up, networking, and time synchronization; background in safety validation, FMEA, and operational risk controls; experience with ML-enabled perception (object detection, segmentation) and dataset evaluation; knowledge of CI/CD for robotics, containerization, and reproducible builds; hands-on experience deploying to mobile robots, manipulators, or industrial automation systems.

Tools and Tech Stack

ROS2, Python, C++, Linux, Git, Docker, Gazebo or Isaac Sim, OpenCV, PCL, Eigen, sensor drivers, bagging/telemetry tooling, and CI pipelines. Depending on project needs, you may also use CUDA-enabled vision stacks and model evaluation frameworks for perception performance testing.

How Success Is Measured

Improved autonomy reliability and stability in real-world runs; measurable gains in localization accuracy and planning success rates; reduced crash rate and faster recovery from faults; strong test coverage and reproducible simulation results; clean interfaces and documentation that accelerate integration; on-time delivery of validated features with clear performance metrics.
