Robotics Engineer Jobs Colombia

Date: 25-02-2026 | Company: Rexzone | Country: US | Remote Type: Remote | Employment Type: FULL_TIME | Experience Level: Mid-Senior | Industry: Technology | Job Function: Engineering | Skills: Robotics engineering, ROS2, ROS, Python, C++, perception, sensor fusion, SLAM, localization, motion planning, controls, Gazebo, Isaac Sim, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, CI/CD, Linux, Docker | Salary Currency: USD | Salary Min: 63360 | Salary Max: 126720 | Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

You will develop and maintain robotics software stacks for autonomous systems, covering perception, localization, mapping, planning, and control. The role emphasizes production readiness: writing robust ROS/ROS2 nodes, optimizing real-time performance, defining interfaces for sensors and actuators, and validating behavior through simulation, logs, and structured test plans. You will work in a remote-first environment while contributing to roadmap execution, technical design reviews, and cross-functional delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain ROS/ROS2 components for robotic perception, planning, and control. Integrate sensors (LiDAR, cameras, IMU, encoders) and perform sensor fusion, calibration, and time synchronization. Build and tune SLAM/localization pipelines, including map management and loop closure strategies where applicable. Implement motion planning and navigation behaviors, including trajectory generation, collision checking, and recovery behaviors. Develop and tune control algorithms (PID, MPC or classical control) for stable tracking and safe operation. Create simulation and validation workflows using Gazebo/Isaac Sim, including scenario libraries, regression tests, and metrics. Establish hardware-in-the-loop and field test procedures, log analysis, and incident retrospectives to drive reliability improvements. Collaborate with mechanical/electrical teams on interfaces, compute constraints, power/thermal limits, and system-level safety. Contribute to CI/CD, code quality, documentation, and engineering best practices for long-term maintainability.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics or autonomous systems in production or advanced prototypes. Strong proficiency in Python and C++ for robotics software development. Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS2, including tf, nav stacks, message definitions, and launch tooling. Solid understanding of perception fundamentals, coordinate frames, estimation, and uncertainty. Experience with SLAM or localization methods and practical deployment constraints. Familiarity with motion planning concepts and navigation pipelines. Experience with Linux-based development, debugging, profiling, and log-driven troubleshooting. Ability to create repeatable tests, validation metrics, and documentation to support team scale.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience deploying robots in warehouses, logistics, manufacturing, agriculture, or field robotics. Knowledge of safety concepts (fail-safes, redundancy, watchdogs) and system reliability practices. Experience with GPU acceleration for perception, and camera pipelines (OpenCV, GStreamer). Experience with Docker, CI pipelines, and reproducible build systems. Familiarity with Isaac Sim, Gazebo plugins, and domain randomization for simulation robustness. Exposure to embedded or real-time considerations, including latency budgeting and scheduling.

Tools and Workflows

Typical workflows include requirements-to-design translation, interface contracts, iterative integration, simulation-first validation, and staged hardware testing. You will use ROS/ROS2 tooling, Python/C++ build systems, Git-based code review, issue tracking, observability dashboards, and structured experiment logs. Success is measured by navigation stability, task completion rate, safety margins, latency, and regression test coverage across releases.
