About the Role

As a Robotics Engineer, you will build and improve robotics capabilities from perception to actuation. You will develop ROS/ROS2 nodes, implement motion planning and control loops, integrate sensors (camera, LiDAR, IMU), and validate autonomy behavior in simulation and on hardware. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, implement robust telemetry, run regression testing, and improve system reliability. You will also contribute to evaluation pipelines for perception and autonomy, including dataset design, labeling guidelines where needed, QA checks, and performance metrics tracking to support model performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Own components of the robotics software stack including perception interfaces, state estimation, planning, and control. Integrate and calibrate sensors; maintain synchronization and coordinate frames; validate transforms and timing. Build simulation scenarios and run SIL/HIL test campaigns to verify behavior across edge cases. Define and monitor KPIs such as localization drift, obstacle detection quality, trajectory tracking error, latency, and safety constraints. Implement tooling for data collection and replay; curate evaluation datasets; perform QA evaluation of autonomy logs and perception outputs. Document architecture, interfaces, and operational procedures; contribute to on-call and incident retrospectives where applicable.

Required Qualifications

Mid-to-senior experience delivering robotics or autonomous systems in production, lab, or field environments. Strong C++ and Python skills with Linux development workflows and debugging. Practical experience with ROS/ROS2, sensor drivers, tf transforms, message timing, and bag/log workflows. Knowledge of SLAM, sensor fusion, motion planning, and control systems fundamentals. Experience with simulation tools (e.g., Gazebo) and structured testing methodologies, including regression and performance testing.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with computer vision pipelines (camera models, calibration, feature tracking, detection/segmentation) and sensor fusion architectures (EKF/UKF). Familiarity with real-time systems and embedded constraints, including deterministic scheduling and latency budgets. Experience building evaluation harnesses for autonomy and perception, including dataset curation, annotation guidelines compliance, and training data quality checks when ML is involved. Understanding of functional safety concepts, content safety labeling for human-facing robots, and structured incident analysis.

Tools and Tech Stack

ROS/ROS2, C++, Python, Linux, Gazebo/simulation, version control, CI/CD for robotics, logging/telemetry, calibration toolchains, and test frameworks. Depending on the project, you may work with computer vision annotation and QA evaluation workflows for large language model evaluation used in robotics interfaces, prompt evaluation for operator tooling, and named entity recognition for command parsing.

Remote Work and Collaboration

This is a Remote, FULL_TIME role with structured async collaboration. You will coordinate with teammates across time zones, provide clear status updates, and maintain high-quality documentation. Hardware access may be supported through remote labs, recorded runs, and standardized log replay pipelines; some projects may require periodic scheduled lab windows.

Compensation

Salary Range: 63360 to 126720 USD per YEAR. Exact compensation depends on scope, seniority, interview performance, and project requirements.
