Title: Robotics Engineer Jobs León | Date: 25-02-2026 | Company: Rexzone | Country: US | Remote Type: Remote | Employment Type: FULL_TIME | Experience Level: Mid-Senior | Industry: Technology | Job Function: Engineering | Skills: Robotics engineering, ROS2, robot perception, motion planning, control systems, sensor fusion, SLAM, computer vision, embedded systems, Python, C++, Gazebo simulation, hardware integration, testing and validation | Salary Currency: USD | Salary Min: 63360 | Salary Max: 126720 | Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

As a Robotics Engineer, you will develop and deploy robotic capabilities from prototype to production. Your work spans robot perception (camera/LiDAR/IMU), mapping and localization (SLAM), motion planning, feedback control, and system integration. You will collaborate with product, QA, and operations to define acceptance criteria, run simulation and on-robot tests, and ensure reliable performance in real-world environments.

Key Responsibilities

You will design and implement robot software modules (ROS/ROS2 nodes, drivers, message interfaces); build perception pipelines using computer vision and sensor fusion; develop planning and control algorithms for navigation and manipulation; create simulation workflows (Gazebo/Isaac/other) for regression testing and scenario coverage; integrate embedded and hardware components (actuators, motor controllers, safety IO); define test plans, logging/telemetry, and performance metrics (latency, accuracy, uptime); troubleshoot field issues with structured root-cause analysis; document architecture, interfaces, and validation results for reproducible deployments.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience building robotics systems; strong programming in Python and C++; hands-on ROS/ROS2 experience (topics, services, actions, TF, launch, QoS); experience with perception, SLAM, calibration, or state estimation; understanding of kinematics, dynamics, and control systems; practical debugging skills across software/hardware boundaries; ability to write maintainable code, tests, and technical documentation in a remote team setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with motion planning frameworks (MoveIt/OMPL), trajectory optimization, or MPC; familiarity with embedded Linux, real-time constraints, and hardware bring-up; experience with safety practices for robotics (fail-safes, watchdogs, E-stops, risk assessment); exposure to reinforcement learning for robotics, imitation learning, or sim-to-real; cloud or CI pipelines for robotics testing, log analysis, and automated builds.

Tools, Workflows, and Domain Coverage

This role commonly interfaces with robotics simulation, QA evaluation, and data-driven iteration. Work may include dataset capture for perception improvements, annotation coordination for computer vision tasks, and performance evaluation using structured test suites. Depending on the team, you may collaborate with AI/ML groups on model evaluation, content safety constraints for human-robot interaction, and reliability metrics that improve model performance and robot behavior over time.

Remote Work and Employment Details

Remote Type remains Remote and Employment Type remains FULL_TIME. You will operate in a distributed engineering workflow with code reviews, issue tracking, reproducible builds, and asynchronous communication. Rex.zone lists related options including remote, contract, freelance, entry-level, and senior roles in robotics engineering and adjacent domains such as NLP, computer vision, and LLM training pipelines.

Compensation

Salary range is USD 63360 to 126720 per year, depending on experience, scope, and interview performance. Benefits and additional compensation components may vary by client team and project.
