About the Role

You will design, build, and deploy robotics capabilities across perception, planning, and control. The work includes developing ROS/ROS2 nodes, integrating sensors (LiDAR, cameras, IMUs), implementing localization and mapping (SLAM), tuning controllers (PID/MPC), and validating behavior in simulation (Gazebo/Ignition) before hardware deployment. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to deliver reliable robot features, improve autonomy performance, and ensure safe operation with clear test coverage and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Own robotics software modules from requirements to release, integrate perception and sensor fusion pipelines for reliable state estimation, implement motion planning and trajectory generation for dynamic environments, develop and tune control loops for mobile manipulators or mobile bases, maintain ROS/ROS2 architecture including launch, parameters, and message definitions, build simulation scenarios and regression tests to reduce real-world failures, profile performance and optimize compute on edge platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson), conduct field testing and debugging using logs, rosbag, and telemetry, and document interfaces, safety constraints, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience shipping robotics systems or autonomy features, strong C++ and Python for real-time or near-real-time robotics applications, hands-on ROS/ROS2 development and debugging, knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, and control theory, experience with SLAM/localization and sensor fusion (e.g., EKF/UKF), familiarity with motion planning concepts (sampling-based or optimization-based), and comfort working with Linux, Git, CI, and reproducible builds.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with computer vision for robotics (OpenCV, feature tracking, depth, calibration), familiarity with navigation stacks and behavior trees, experience with embedded/edge deployment and acceleration (CUDA/TensorRT), exposure to safety and reliability practices for robots operating around people, and experience supporting production robots with monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement.
