Date: 25-02-2026 | Company: Rexzone | Country: US | Remote Type: Remote | Employment Type: FULL_TIME | Experience Level: Mid-Senior | Industry: Technology | Job Function: Engineering | Skills: Robotics Engineering, ROS2, Motion Planning, Control Systems, Computer Vision, Sensor Fusion, SLAM, Python, C++, Gazebo Simulation, Hardware Integration | Salary Currency: USD | Salary Min: 63360 | Salary Max: 126720 | Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

As a Robotics Engineer, you will design, implement, and validate robot software modules that run on real hardware and in simulation. You will build ROS2 nodes, integrate sensors (cameras, IMUs, LiDAR), implement motion planning and control loops, and maintain robust interfaces to embedded systems. Your work will span algorithm development, integration testing, and performance tuning to improve navigation accuracy, manipulation reliability, and overall robot uptime in production environments.

Key Responsibilities

You will develop and maintain ROS2-based robotics software, including perception pipelines, state estimation, and planning components. You will implement control systems, trajectory generation, and safety constraints for autonomous behavior. You will integrate and calibrate sensors, improve sensor fusion and SLAM performance, and analyze logs for failure modes. You will build simulation scenarios (e.g., Gazebo) for regression testing, create tooling for repeatable experiments, and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and QA teams to validate end-to-end system behavior.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience shipping robotics features in production or advanced prototypes. Strong programming skills in C++ and Python, with ROS/ROS2 experience. Practical knowledge of motion planning, kinematics, control theory, and state estimation. Experience with computer vision, sensor fusion, SLAM, and debugging distributed robotic systems. Ability to design tests, interpret telemetry/logs, and improve reliability through systematic root-cause analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Nav2, MoveIt, behavior trees, and real-time constraints. Familiarity with embedded Linux, hardware interfaces, CAN/serial communication, and calibration workflows. Background in safety practices for autonomous systems, fail-safe design, and field testing. Experience deploying to edge compute platforms and optimizing latency for perception and planning.

Workflow and Tooling

Typical workflows include developing features in ROS2 workspaces, running unit and integration tests, validating in simulation, and executing controlled hardware tests. You will use telemetry, bag files, and visualization tools (e.g., RViz) to diagnose issues, tune parameters, and measure navigation/manipulation metrics. You will collaborate through code reviews, design docs, and sprint planning to deliver stable robotics releases.

Remote Work and Collaboration

This is a Remote, FULL_TIME role supporting distributed engineering teams. You will coordinate across time zones, document decisions, and communicate progress through structured updates. When hardware access is needed, you may work with onsite technicians or use remote lab setups and simulation pipelines to maintain delivery velocity.

How to Apply on Rex.zone

Apply through Rex.zone by submitting your resume and a short summary of robotics systems you have built, shipped, or tested. Include links to portfolios, GitHub repositories, technical write-ups, or demos that show ROS2 work, planning/control implementations, perception pipelines, and validation results in simulation or on hardware.
