Title: Robotics Engineer (Peru) Date: 25-02-2026 Company: Rexzone Country: US Remote Type: Remote Employment Type: FULL_TIME Experience Level: Mid-Senior Industry: Technology Job Function: Engineering Skills: Robotics, ROS2, C++, Python, Motion Planning, SLAM, Computer Vision, Sensor Fusion, Control Systems, Linux Salary Currency: USD Salary Min: 63360 Salary Max: 126720 Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

You will build end-to-end robotics capabilities, from perception and localization to planning and control, supporting production-grade robot deployments. The work includes ROS/ROS2 node development, real-time integration with sensors and actuators, and improving robot behavior using simulation and systematic testing. You will partner with mechanical, electrical, and product teams to translate requirements into robust robot features that perform reliably in varied environments.

What You Will Do

Design and implement ROS/ROS2 software components for robot perception, planning, and control. Develop and tune localization and mapping solutions (SLAM) using LiDAR, cameras, IMU, and wheel odometry. Build motion planning and navigation behaviors, including obstacle avoidance and recovery strategies. Integrate robot hardware interfaces, calibrate sensors, and validate performance with repeatable test plans. Create simulation workflows (e.g., Gazebo/Ignition) and hardware-in-the-loop pipelines to de-risk deployments. Diagnose field issues using logs, metrics, and replay tooling; implement fixes that improve system reliability. Collaborate on safety practices, fail-safe behavior, and operational runbooks for robot deployments.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics features from prototype to deployment. Strong C++ and Python engineering skills with Linux development workflows. Production experience with ROS/ROS2, message passing, transforms, and debugging tools. Solid understanding of robot kinematics, control, and state estimation (e.g., Kalman filtering concepts). Hands-on experience with perception stacks using computer vision and sensor fusion. Comfort working with Git, CI/CD, code reviews, and test automation.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with motion planning libraries (e.g., OMPL, MoveIt) and navigation stacks (e.g., Nav2). Experience with embedded or real-time constraints and performance profiling. Familiarity with industrial automation, mobile robots, or manipulation systems in production settings. Experience deploying on edge hardware (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson) and optimizing inference pipelines. Exposure to safety standards, reliability engineering, and incident response for autonomous systems.
