About the Role

You will design and implement robotics software and controls for production robotics systems, combining motion planning, perception, and real-time control. The work includes integrating sensors (e.g., cameras, LiDAR, IMU), building robust state estimation and sensor fusion, and validating behaviors via simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing. You will partner with cross-functional engineering stakeholders to define requirements, create test plans, review logs, and ship improvements that increase safety, uptime, and task success rate.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain ROS/ROS2 nodes, launch configurations, and communication interfaces; develop motion planning pipelines (trajectory generation, collision checking, constraints) and tune controllers for smooth, stable behavior; implement perception components (computer vision, feature extraction, object tracking) and sensor fusion for reliable localization and mapping (SLAM); integrate hardware drivers and interfaces for actuators, cameras, LiDAR, encoders, and industrial I/O; develop simulation and validation workflows (Gazebo/Isaac Sim) including scenario coverage, regression tests, and performance benchmarks; analyze field logs, root-cause failures, and deliver fixes that improve robustness, latency, and real-time performance; document architecture, APIs, and operational runbooks; support CI/CD, code review, and engineering QA practices for robotics releases.

Required Qualifications

Mid-senior experience delivering robotics or automation systems; strong C++ and Python for robotics applications; hands-on ROS/ROS2 experience and familiarity with Linux development; understanding of kinematics, dynamics, and control systems (e.g., PID, state-space concepts); practical experience with localization, mapping, and state estimation (e.g., SLAM, EKF) and sensor fusion; experience integrating sensors and debugging timing, calibration, and coordinate frames; ability to design tests, measure performance, and iterate based on data; strong communication and documentation skills for remote collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with industrial automation and PLC integration; familiarity with GPU-accelerated perception stacks and real-time constraints; experience deploying robots in warehouses, manufacturing, logistics, or field environments; comfort with simulation-driven development, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and safety-oriented validation; exposure to modern CI/CD, automated testing, and reproducible robotics builds.

Tools and Tech Stack

ROS/ROS2, C++, Python, Linux, Git, Gazebo, Isaac Sim, motion planning frameworks, SLAM libraries, computer vision toolkits, real-time debugging and profiling tools, CI/CD pipelines.

Remote Work and Collaboration

This role is Remote and full-time. You will coordinate with distributed engineering teams through written specs, async updates, code reviews, and scheduled design reviews. Clear documentation, reproducible experiments, and measurable acceptance criteria are essential for success.
