Robotics Engineer Jobs in Tijuana

Date: 25-02-2026 | Job Title: Robotics Engineer Jobs in Tijuana Company: Rexzone Country: US Remote Type: Remote Employment Type: FULL_TIME Experience Level: Mid-Senior Industry: Technology Job Function: Engineering Skills: ROS2, C++, Python, Control Systems, Motion Planning, Sensor Fusion, Computer Vision, SLAM, Embedded Systems, Linux Salary Currency: USD Salary Min: 63360 Salary Max: 126720 Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

You will deliver end-to-end robotics engineering for remote teams supporting programs aligned to Tijuana hiring needs, including prototyping, simulation, integration, and field validation. Work spans robot software architecture (ROS/ROS2 nodes, messaging, and lifecycle), control loops, perception pipelines (camera/LiDAR/IMU), and rigorous testing to meet performance and safety targets. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and QA stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable robotic behaviors, instrument telemetry, and continuously improve system uptime.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement robotic software components using ROS/ROS2, C++, and Python, with clear interfaces and maintainable architecture. Develop perception and sensor fusion pipelines (camera, LiDAR, IMU, encoders) for localization, obstacle detection, and state estimation. Build motion planning and control modules (PID/MPC concepts, trajectory generation, constraints) to achieve stable, safe robot behavior. Create simulation-first workflows (e.g., Gazebo/Ignition or equivalent) for rapid iteration, regression tests, and performance benchmarking. Integrate embedded/real-time interfaces and drivers, ensuring deterministic timing where required and robust error handling. Define validation plans, automated tests, and hardware-in-the-loop checks; investigate failures using logs, metrics, and telemetry. Collaborate across disciplines to align kinematics, calibration, safety interlocks, and production deployment requirements. Document design decisions, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides to improve onboarding and operational readiness.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics features from concept through integration and validation. Strong C++ and Python skills with production engineering practices (code review, testing, CI/CD basics). Hands-on ROS/ROS2 development including message definitions, TF frames, launch files, and debugging tools. Knowledge of robotics fundamentals: kinematics, dynamics, control systems, and motion planning. Experience with Linux-based development, profiling, and debugging distributed systems. Familiarity with sensor calibration, time synchronization, and managing noisy real-world data.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SLAM, localization, and mapping in indoor or outdoor environments. Computer vision for robotics (feature tracking, depth, object detection) and performance optimization. Embedded systems exposure (microcontrollers, real-time constraints, CAN/serial/Ethernet field buses). Safety standards awareness for robotics/automation and test-driven validation processes. Deployment experience for industrial automation, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), or robotic manipulation.

Tools and Technologies

ROS/ROS2, Gazebo/Ignition (or equivalent simulators), Linux C++, Python, Git, CI pipelines, Docker (as applicable) Perception stacks for camera/LiDAR/IMU; SLAM and sensor fusion libraries Telemetry/logging, profiling, and debugging toolchains
