Title: Robotics Engineer Jobs Uruguay Date: 25-02-2026 Company: Rexzone Country: US Remote Type: Remote Employment Type: FULL_TIME Experience Level: Mid-Senior Industry: Technology Job Function: Engineering Skills: Robotics engineering, ROS2, C++, Python, Robot kinematics, Motion planning, SLAM, Sensor fusion, Computer vision, Control systems, Embedded systems, Gazebo simulation, Docker, Linux Salary Currency: USD Salary Min: 63360 Salary Max: 126720 Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

You will design, implement, and improve robotics capabilities for autonomous and semi-autonomous platforms. This includes writing production-grade robotics software (ROS/ROS2 nodes, device drivers, perception and planning modules), integrating sensors (LiDAR, cameras, IMU, encoders), and validating performance in simulation and real-world testing. You will partner with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into robust robotic behaviors, ensuring safety, reliability, and maintainability in deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Own robotics software components for perception, localization, mapping, planning, and control. Integrate and calibrate sensors; build pipelines for time synchronization, filtering, and sensor fusion. Develop and tune control loops (PID/MPC as applicable) for navigation, manipulation, or actuation. Implement SLAM/localization approaches and evaluate drift, loop closure behavior, and recovery. Build simulation and test harnesses (Gazebo/Ignition or equivalent) to reproduce field issues. Establish performance metrics (latency, accuracy, reliability) and drive continuous improvement. Collaborate on hardware bring-up, embedded interfaces, and field debugging procedures. Document architecture, interfaces, and operational runbooks for deployment and support.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience building robotics systems in production or advanced prototypes. Strong C++ and Python proficiency for robotics development on Linux. Hands-on ROS/ROS2 experience: TF frames, nav stacks, launch systems, and message definitions. Solid understanding of robot kinematics, coordinate frames, and motion planning fundamentals. Experience with SLAM/localization and sensor fusion (e.g., EKF/UKF). Comfortable debugging distributed robotic systems (logs, bag files, profiling, latency analysis). Familiarity with version control, CI practices, and containerized development (Docker).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), industrial automation, or field robotics. Computer vision for robotics (feature tracking, object detection, depth, calibration). Embedded systems experience (MCUs, CAN, UART, real-time constraints) and device drivers. Motion planning frameworks (MoveIt, OMPL) and trajectory optimization exposure. Experience deploying to fleets, monitoring telemetry, and handling OTA updates. Safety practices, fault detection, redundancy strategies, and operational risk controls.

Tools, Tech Stack, and Domains

Robotics: ROS/ROS2, TF, nav stack concepts, MoveIt (as applicable). Programming: C++, Python, Linux. Perception: sensor fusion, LiDAR/camera pipelines, calibration, synchronization. Localization/Mapping: SLAM, EKF-based state estimation. Simulation: Gazebo/Ignition, synthetic testing, scenario playback. DevOps: Git, CI/CD concepts, Docker, reproducible builds.
