About the Role

Design, develop, and maintain robotics software that powers autonomous behavior from perception to planning to control. You will integrate sensors (camera, LiDAR, IMU), implement localization and mapping (SLAM), and build navigation and manipulation capabilities that operate reliably in real-world conditions. The work includes simulation-first development, field testing, performance profiling, and continuous improvement of safety and robustness in production deployments.

Key Responsibilities

You will: (1) Build robotics modules in ROS/ROS2 using C++ and Python, (2) Implement and tune SLAM, localization, and sensor fusion pipelines, (3) Develop motion planning and navigation stacks with obstacle avoidance, (4) Integrate perception components (CV, LiDAR processing) for scene understanding, (5) Implement real-time control loops and ensure deterministic behavior where required, (6) Create simulation scenarios in Gazebo/Isaac Sim to validate behavior before hardware tests, (7) Define test plans, logging, telemetry, and regression benchmarks for reliability, (8) Collaborate with hardware, QA, and systems engineers on interfaces, safety constraints, and deployment.

Required Qualifications

Mid-senior experience shipping robotics systems or autonomous features. Strong programming skills in C++ and Python. Hands-on knowledge of ROS/ROS2, coordinate frames (TF), and common robotics middleware patterns. Experience with SLAM/localization, motion planning, navigation, and sensor fusion. Familiarity with computer vision and point cloud processing. Ability to debug across software/hardware boundaries using logs, profilers, and instrumentation.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with manipulation (grasp planning, IK), multi-sensor calibration, embedded or real-time systems, and safety-aware autonomy. Background with NVIDIA Isaac stack, Gazebo, or other simulators. Exposure to Docker and CI/CD for robotics, reproducible builds, and automated regression testing. Experience operating robots in industrial settings (warehouses, factories) and improving robustness under noisy sensing and dynamic obstacles.

Tools and Tech Stack

ROS/ROS2, C++, Python, SLAM/localization frameworks, sensor fusion, motion planning, navigation, control systems, computer vision, LiDAR/point clouds, simulation (Gazebo/Isaac Sim), containerization (Docker), CI/CD pipelines, Linux-based development.

Remote Work and Collaboration

This is a Remote, FULL_TIME role. You will collaborate across time zones using engineering documentation, code reviews, issue tracking, and structured test reporting. When hardware access is required, workflows may include remote lab access, simulation parity requirements, and staged rollouts with telemetry-driven validation.

How to Apply on Rex.zone

Apply through Rex.zone by submitting your resume and a brief summary of shipped robotics projects (autonomy, navigation, manipulation, perception, or controls). Include links to code samples, publications, or demos when available, and describe the environments you have deployed to (simulation, lab, production).
