About the Role

As a Robotics Engineer at Rexzone, you will design and implement core robotics capabilities from perception and localization to planning and controls. You will collaborate with product and research stakeholders to translate requirements into robot software components, define interfaces, and ship stable releases. You will work end-to-end across simulation, log analysis, field testing, and performance tuning, ensuring robust behavior under real-world constraints such as latency, sensor noise, and changing environments.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain robotics software modules for perception, localization, mapping, planning, and controls; implement ROS2 nodes, message interfaces, and lifecycle management; develop and validate SLAM and sensor fusion pipelines (IMU, LiDAR, camera, wheel odometry); integrate path planning and trajectory optimization for mobile robots and manipulators; create simulation and test harnesses (Gazebo, Isaac Sim) and support hardware-in-the-loop validation; establish calibration, logging, and observability practices for repeatable experiments; optimize runtime performance, determinism, and safety constraints for deployment; collaborate on requirements, design reviews, and incident retrospectives to improve system reliability.

Required Qualifications

Mid-senior experience delivering robotics systems in production or advanced prototypes; strong C++ and Python for robotics software development; hands-on experience with ROS2 tooling, debugging, and package management; understanding of state estimation, Kalman filtering concepts, and multi-sensor fusion; familiarity with SLAM, map representations, coordinate frames, and transforms; practical knowledge of motion planning, control loops, and trajectory tracking; strong Linux development skills and experience with CI/testing for robotics codebases.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with computer vision (feature tracking, depth, stereo) and perception model integration; familiarity with real-time considerations, threading, and performance profiling; experience with manipulation planning, grasping pipelines, or whole-body control; exposure to safety standards, fault detection, and recovery strategies; experience building evaluation metrics for autonomy (collision rate, tracking error, localization drift); experience with cloud-based log pipelines and dataset management for robot telemetry.

Tools and Technologies

ROS2, C++, Python, Linux, Eigen, OpenCV, PCL, LiDAR/camera/IMU drivers, Gazebo, Isaac Sim, Docker, Git, CI/CD, on-robot telemetry and logging, calibration toolchains, profiling and debugging tools.

Remote Work and Collaboration

This is a Remote, FULL_TIME role based in the US. You will collaborate asynchronously using clear design documents, reproducible experiments, and structured reviews. You will coordinate testing windows, share logs and simulation artifacts, and contribute to robust engineering practices that support distributed robotics teams.

How to Apply on Rex.zone

Apply through Rex.zone by submitting your resume and a short summary of robotics systems you shipped, including sensors used, environments tested, and measurable outcomes (e.g., localization drift reduction, planning success rate, cycle time improvements). Include links to relevant repositories, publications, or technical write-ups where possible.
