The work emphasizes production-readiness: telemetry, failure analysis, regression testing, safety constraints, and reproducible experiments. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners (hardware, embedded, ML, QA) to integrate sensors (camera, LiDAR, IMU) and deploy robust stacks to real systems via CI/CD and structured release processes. Responsibilities: - Build and maintain ROS2 nodes for perception, localization, planning, and control - Develop SLAM and state estimation modules using multi-sensor fusion (EKF/UKF) - Implement motion planning and trajectory optimization under kinematic and dynamic constraints - Create simulation-first workflows (Gazebo/Isaac) with scenario coverage and regression suites - Tune controllers (PID/MPC) and improve stability, tracking error, and energy efficiency - Establish data capture, labeling/ground-truth alignment, and evaluation metrics for robotics experiments - Diagnose field issues using logs, bag files, and performance profiling; propose corrective actions - Document interfaces, assumptions, and safety boundaries; enforce coding standards and reviews Required Qualifications: - Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics or autonomous systems in production or advanced R&D - Strong C++ and Python with clean architecture, testing discipline, and performance awareness - Hands-on ROS2 (or deep ROS1 with migration experience), TF, URDF, and navigation concepts - Practical understanding of SLAM, state estimation, and sensor fusion for mobile robots - Experience with motion planning (sampling-based, optimization-based) and collision checking - Familiarity with camera/LiDAR perception, calibration, and time synchronization Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with embedded/real-time constraints and hardware-in-the-loop validation - Exposure to safety engineering (fault detection, redundancy, constraints, risk analysis) - Experience deploying models for perception (e.g., object detection/segmentation) on edge devices - Comfort with Linux tooling, containers, and CI systems for robotics builds and releases What You’ll Work With: - ROS2, Nav2, TF2, RViz, Gazebo/Isaac simulation - C++, Python, Eigen, OpenCV, PCL - SLAM/state estimation toolchains and logging/telemetry pipelines How to Apply on Rex.zone: - Submit your application with a short summary of robotics systems shipped, relevant repos/papers, and your preferred autonomy domain (perception, SLAM, planning, controls). - Include examples of debugging a field issue or improving a key metric (e.g., localization drift, planning latency, tracking error).
