About the Role

As a Robotics Engineer, you will design, implement, and validate robotics capabilities across perception, localization, planning, and control. You will work in remote-first teams to integrate sensors (RGB-D, LiDAR, IMU), build SLAM and sensor fusion pipelines, and ship reliable autonomy behaviors. You will also support data-centric robotics by defining dataset requirements, verifying training data quality, and coordinating QA evaluation for perception outputs used in robotic decision-making.

What You Will Do

Build robotics software modules using ROS 2, Python, and C++ for perception, mapping, planning, and control. Develop and tune SLAM, sensor fusion, and state estimation for mobile robots or manipulators. Implement motion planning and trajectory generation with safety constraints and real-time considerations. Create simulation workflows (digital twins where applicable) to test autonomy and improve simulation-to-real transfer. Partner with ML/perception teams to validate computer vision models, define evaluation metrics, and improve model performance improvement loops. Establish test plans, logging, and QA evaluation protocols to detect regressions and ensure reliable deployments.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics systems in production or advanced prototypes. Strong programming skills in Python and C++ with robotics-oriented design patterns. Hands-on experience with ROS 2, message pipelines, and debugging distributed robotic stacks. Solid fundamentals in kinematics, controls, estimation, and motion planning. Experience with perception and computer vision concepts, including calibration and sensor synchronization. Ability to write clear documentation, define acceptance criteria, and run structured QA evaluation on robotics behaviors.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SLAM frameworks and sensor fusion (e.g., EKF/UKF), and autonomy architectures. Familiarity with embedded systems constraints, real-time performance, and hardware bring-up. Experience using simulators and reproducible experiment pipelines. Exposure to robotics dataset curation, annotation guidelines compliance, and evaluation datasets for perception. Background collaborating with AI labs, tech startups, BPOs, or robotics vendors on applied autonomy.

Tools and Concepts You Will Use

ROS 2 nodes, topics, services; robot telemetry and logging; CI for robotics; simulation environments; perception and computer vision; SLAM and mapping; motion planning; controls; safety testing; QA evaluation and regression testing; data-centric iteration for perception training datasets.
