Open Role: Robotics Engineer (Remote)

Date: 25-02-2026 | Company: Rexzone | Country: US | Remote Type: Remote | Employment Type: FULL_TIME | Experience Level: Mid-Senior | Industry: Technology | Job Function: Engineering | Skills: Robotics, ROS 2, SLAM, Sensor Fusion, Motion Planning, Computer Vision, Control Systems, C++, Python | Salary Currency: USD | Salary Min: 63360 | Salary Max: 126720 | Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

As a Robotics Engineer, you will design, build, and iterate on autonomy software for robotic platforms. Your work will span perception, localization, mapping, planning, and control, with an emphasis on testable, production-ready systems. You will collaborate with hardware, embedded, and product stakeholders to integrate sensors and actuators, validate performance in simulation, and harden behavior for real-world constraints such as latency, noise, and safety requirements.

What You Will Do

You will develop and maintain ROS/ROS 2 nodes and interfaces; implement SLAM, sensor fusion, and state estimation pipelines; build motion planning and trajectory optimization components; integrate camera/LiDAR/IMU/GNSS data streams; create simulation-based testing (e.g., Gazebo/Ignition/Isaac) and CI checks for autonomy modules; profile and optimize real-time performance on edge compute; and document operational procedures, calibration steps, and on-robot debugging playbooks.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics or autonomy software; strong C++ and Python for performance-critical and rapid prototyping workflows; hands-on experience with ROS/ROS 2 message/service/action patterns; understanding of SLAM, localization, mapping, and sensor fusion; familiarity with motion planning and control systems (PID, MPC, trajectory tracking); and competence with Linux tooling, debugging, and version control.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with computer vision for robotics (feature tracking, depth, multi-view geometry) and perception stacks; practical knowledge of calibration (camera-IMU, LiDAR-camera), time synchronization, and coordinate transforms; experience deploying on embedded/edge systems and working with real-time constraints; simulation-first development and test automation; and exposure to safety, reliability, and field operations for robotic fleets.

Work Environment (Remote)

This is a Remote, FULL_TIME role based in the US. You will collaborate asynchronously with distributed engineering teams and participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and incident retrospectives. Some teams may require occasional travel for hardware integration or field validation depending on the robotics platform and deployment schedule.

How to Apply on Rex.zone

Apply via Rex.zone with a resume highlighting robotics systems shipped to production, ROS/ROS 2 projects, and measurable improvements (e.g., localization accuracy, planning latency, safety metrics). Include links to portfolios, Git repositories, technical write-ups, or simulation demos that demonstrate autonomy engineering depth.
