Title: Robotics Engineer Date: 25-02-2026 Company: Rexzone Country: US Remote Type: Remote Employment Type: FULL_TIME Experience Level: Mid-Senior Industry: Technology Job Function: Engineering Skills: ROS2, C++, Python, SLAM, Motion Planning, Control Systems, Sensor Fusion, Gazebo Simulation, Linux, Git Salary Currency: USD Salary Min: 63360 Salary Max: 126720 Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

As a mid-senior Robotics Engineer on Rex.zone, you will build and maintain robotics software that powers autonomous and semi-autonomous systems. Your work spans robot perception, localization, navigation, and manipulation—translating requirements into reliable code, test coverage, and measurable performance improvements. You will operate in a remote-first environment while supporting robotics teams hiring under Guadalajara-focused searches, including automation vendors, tech startups, and enterprise engineering groups.

What You Will Do

Design, implement, and debug robotics software modules using ROS/ROS2, C++, and Python. Develop motion planning and navigation behaviors (trajectory generation, collision checking, path following). Build localization and mapping components (SLAM) and tune parameters for real-world robustness. Integrate sensors (LiDAR, RGB-D, IMU, encoders) and implement sensor fusion pipelines for stable state estimation. Create simulation and testing workflows (Gazebo/Ignition, hardware-in-the-loop) to validate changes before deployment. Define acceptance criteria and run QA validation for robot behaviors, safety constraints, and reliability targets. Collaborate with embedded, mechanical, and systems engineering to diagnose issues across software-hardware boundaries. Document architectures, interfaces, and runbooks to improve maintainability and on-call readiness.

Required Qualifications

Mid-senior experience delivering robotics or autonomous systems in production or advanced prototypes. Strong programming skills in C++ and Python, with Linux development proficiency. Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS2 architecture, nodes, topics, services, TF, and bagging workflows. Background in at least two of the following: SLAM, motion planning, controls, perception, sensor fusion. Comfortable with test-driven engineering practices: unit tests, integration tests, CI, and regression tracking. Ability to work effectively in remote, distributed teams with clear written communication.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with MoveIt/MoveIt2, Navigation2, or similar robotics frameworks. Familiarity with real-time considerations, embedded interfaces, and hardware drivers. Experience with safety and compliance practices relevant to robotics deployments. Exposure to computer vision or deep learning for perception pipelines (CV, model inference, dataset evaluation). Experience supporting automation deployments in warehouses, manufacturing, service robotics, or mobile robotics.

Remote Work & Collaboration

Remote: This is explicitly a Remote, full-time role aligned to Robotics Jobs Guadalajara search intent. Work with cross-functional teams across time zones using structured async updates and scheduled technical reviews. Operate with measurable engineering outcomes: reliability metrics, navigation success rate, latency targets, and defect reduction.
