About the Role

As a Robotics Engineer, you will design, implement, and deploy robot capabilities across perception, localization, planning, and control. You will work with ROS2-based stacks, integrate sensors (camera, LiDAR, IMU), develop autonomy behaviors, and support simulation and field testing. The focus is on robust robot software engineering: reproducible builds, telemetry, debugging, and measurable improvements in navigation and manipulation performance under real-world constraints.

Key Responsibilities

You will: build and maintain ROS2 nodes, launch files, and robot bring-up; implement perception modules using computer vision and sensor fusion; develop SLAM and localization pipelines for reliable mapping and pose estimation; implement motion planning and control loops for mobile robots and/or robotic arms; improve simulation workflows (Gazebo) and support sim-to-real validation; write tests, perform log-based debugging, and create tools for data collection and analysis; collaborate with product and hardware teams on integration, calibration, and performance tuning; document architecture decisions, interfaces, and operational runbooks for deployment.

Required Qualifications

Mid-senior experience shipping robotics software in production or advanced prototypes; strong programming skills in C++ and Python; experience with ROS2, Linux, and robotics middleware patterns; hands-on knowledge of SLAM, state estimation, or localization; familiarity with motion planning, trajectory generation, and control systems; experience integrating sensors (camera/LiDAR/IMU) and working with calibration and synchronization; ability to troubleshoot complex robot behaviors using logs, metrics, and experiments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Nav2, MoveIt, Behavior Trees, or autonomy frameworks; familiarity with CUDA acceleration or real-time performance optimization; experience with computer vision pipelines (OpenCV) and 3D perception; background in safety-aware autonomy, redundancy, and fault handling; experience deploying robotics systems in warehouses, manufacturing, delivery, or field robotics; exposure to CI/CD for robotics, containerization, and reproducible simulation environments.

Workflow and Tools

Typical workflow includes requirements definition, architecture design, ROS2 package development, simulation validation in Gazebo, integration testing on hardware, field testing, and iterative performance tuning. Tools commonly used include Git, Linux, ROS2, Gazebo, OpenCV, logging/telemetry dashboards, and data analysis notebooks for evaluating navigation success rates, localization drift, planning latency, and control stability.

Compensation and Work Type

This is a Remote, FULL_TIME role based in the US with salary range USD 63360 to 126720 per YEAR. Exact compensation depends on experience, technical depth across autonomy modules, and demonstrated delivery in robotics deployments.

How to Apply on Rex.zone

Apply through Rex.zone by submitting your resume and a short summary of robotics projects you shipped (navigation, manipulation, perception, SLAM, planning, control). Include links to GitHub, technical write-ups, or demos where available, and describe your role in system integration, testing, and production readiness.
