About the Role

You will design, implement, and validate robotics capabilities for deployed systems, collaborating across software, mechanical, electrical, and product stakeholders. The work includes ROS/ROS2 node development, interface design, perception and localization integration (e.g., SLAM, sensor fusion), motion planning, and controls. You will own testing strategy across simulation, unit/integration tests, and hardware-in-the-loop validation, ensuring repeatable deployments and high reliability in real-world environments. This Remote, Full-Time role supports modern engineering workflows including code review, CI/CD, containerized development, and production observability.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain ROS/ROS2-based robotics software components, including messaging, services, actions, and lifecycle management; Integrate sensors and perception stacks (camera, LiDAR, IMU) with calibration, synchronization, and sensor fusion; Implement and tune localization and mapping approaches (SLAM) appropriate to operating conditions; Develop motion planning and navigation behaviors, including constraint handling and safety considerations; Design and execute simulation scenarios (Gazebo or equivalent) to validate behavior before deployment; Establish automated testing (unit, integration, regression) and hardware-in-the-loop pipelines; Analyze logs and telemetry to diagnose performance issues and improve robot reliability; Collaborate on system architecture, interface contracts, and documentation for maintainable, scalable robotics deployments.

Required Qualifications

Mid-senior experience in robotics software engineering or automation engineering; Strong Python and C++ skills for production-quality robotics code; Hands-on experience with ROS2 (preferred) or ROS, including build tools and debugging; Familiarity with motion planning, navigation, and real-time constraints in robotic systems; Experience integrating perception inputs (computer vision, LiDAR) and working with sensor fusion; Competence in Linux development environments, Git, and structured code review practices; Ability to design tests and validate behavior using simulation and hardware-in-the-loop methods.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SLAM and localization libraries and practical tuning in field conditions; Knowledge of controls (PID, model-based control) and actuator interfaces; Experience with containerized development (Docker) and CI/CD for robotics; Exposure to safety practices, fault handling, and reliability engineering for robots; Experience deploying robots in logistics, manufacturing, inspection, or service robotics settings.

Tools and Workflow

ROS2/ROS, Python, C++, Linux, Git; Simulation and testing using Gazebo or comparable simulators; CI/CD pipelines for automated build and test; Containerization with Docker for reproducible environments; Logging, metrics, and performance profiling for runtime diagnostics.

Compensation

Salary range is USD 63360 to 126720 per year, depending on experience, scope, and interview outcomes. This is a Remote, Full-Time role.
