Title: Robotics Software Engineer Jobs in Buenos Aires Date: 25-02-2026 Company: Rexzone Country: US Remote Type: Remote Employment Type: FULL_TIME Experience Level: Mid-Senior Industry: Technology Job Function: Engineering Skills: ROS 2, C++, Python, Motion Planning, SLAM, Sensor Fusion, Linux, Real-Time Systems, Gazebo Simulation, Docker, CI/CD, Git Salary Currency: USD Salary Min: 63360 Salary Max: 126720 Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

You will design, implement, and maintain robotics software components used in production robot fleets. The work spans autonomy pipelines (perception, localization, mapping, planning, control), ROS 2 node architecture, performance profiling, and simulation-to-real validation. You will partner with hardware, QA, and operations to improve reliability, safety, and maintainability, including robust logging, metrics, and automated regression tests.

Key Responsibilities

Build and optimize ROS 2 packages and node graphs for robotics applications; implement perception and state estimation components (sensor calibration, time sync, sensor fusion); develop SLAM, localization, and navigation behaviors with strong edge-case handling; implement motion planning and control loops with real-time constraints where required; create simulation environments and test scenarios (Gazebo or equivalent) to validate behavior before deployment; add automated tests, reproducible builds, and CI pipelines for robotics software; instrument observability (logs, traces, metrics) and debug field issues using bag files and telemetry; collaborate cross-functionally to define interfaces, acceptance criteria, and rollout plans for robot updates.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of professional software engineering experience with robotics or autonomy systems; strong proficiency in C++ and Python in Linux environments; hands-on experience with ROS/ROS 2 concepts (topics, services, actions, tf, lifecycle nodes); understanding of robotics fundamentals: kinematics, coordinate frames, control, and probabilistic state estimation; experience with at least one of: SLAM, sensor fusion, navigation, or motion planning; ability to write clean, testable code and diagnose performance and reliability issues.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience deploying software to robot fleets (AMRs, drones, manipulators, industrial robots); familiarity with Nav2, MoveIt, Autoware, or similar frameworks; experience with real-time systems and performance tuning; experience with simulation workflows and digital twins; knowledge of computer vision (OpenCV) and/or deep learning inference at the edge; exposure to safety, redundancy, and fault-tolerant design patterns.

Tech Stack and Tools

ROS 2, C++, Python, Linux, Git, Docker, CI/CD, Gazebo or equivalent simulation, sensor drivers, bagging/telemetry, debugging and profiling tools. Depending on project scope, you may also use navigation and manipulation frameworks, perception toolkits, and fleet management services.

How to Apply on Rex.zone

Apply through Rex.zone by submitting your resume and a brief summary of robotics projects you have shipped (production deployments, simulations, competitions, or research prototypes). Include links to GitHub, publications, or demos where available. Candidates with clear examples of debugging field issues, improving reliability, and shipping iterative robot updates are strongly encouraged to apply.
