Title: Robotics Software Engineer Jobs Florianópolis; Date: 25-02-2026; Company: Rexzone; Country: US; Remote Type: Remote; Employment Type: FULL_TIME; Experience Level: Mid-Senior; Industry: Technology; Job Function: Engineering; Skills: ROS 2, C++, Python, Robot Perception, Sensor Fusion, SLAM, Motion Planning, Control Systems, Gazebo, Isaac Sim, Linux, CI/CD; Salary Currency: USD; Salary Min: 63360; Salary Max: 126720; Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

Design, implement, and maintain robotics software modules for autonomy and robot behavior, including ROS 2 nodes, perception pipelines, planning/control loops, and simulation-first validation. You will help define system architecture, improve runtime performance, and ensure safe operation through robust testing, logging, and monitoring across real robots and simulation environments.

What You Will Do

Build ROS 2-based robotics applications integrating sensors (camera, LiDAR, IMU) and actuators; develop perception and localization components such as SLAM, state estimation, and sensor fusion; implement motion planning and control algorithms for navigation and manipulation; create simulation scenarios in Gazebo or Isaac Sim to reproduce field issues; establish automated tests (unit, integration, hardware-in-the-loop when available) and CI/CD pipelines; tune performance and reliability using profiling, telemetry, and log analysis; collaborate with embedded and hardware teams on interfaces, timing constraints, and bring-up; document APIs, configuration, and operational procedures to support deployment and maintenance.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics or autonomy software; strong C++ and Python in Linux environments; hands-on ROS 2 development (nodes, TF, messages, launch, lifecycle, QoS); experience with at least one domain: perception, SLAM/localization, motion planning, or control; familiarity with simulation workflows and reproducible experiments; ability to write clean, testable code with code reviews and CI; understanding of real-world robotics constraints including latency, noise, calibration, and safety.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Nav2, MoveIt, Behavior Trees, or MPC; depth in sensor fusion (EKF/UKF), mapping, or visual-inertial pipelines; experience with GPU acceleration (CUDA) or optimized inference runtimes; familiarity with real-time concepts and synchronization; exposure to cloud robotics, OTA updates, fleet management, or observability stacks; experience shipping robotics products from prototype to production.

Tools and Workflows

ROS 2, C++, Python, Linux, Git, Docker, CI/CD, Gazebo or Isaac Sim, logging/telemetry, automated testing, code review practices, and structured debugging in simulation and on hardware.

How to Apply on Rex.zone

Apply through Rex.zone by submitting your resume and a brief summary of shipped robotics projects (perception, planning, control, or full stack). Include links to code samples, publications, or demos when available, and highlight the robot platforms, sensors, and ROS 2 packages you have worked with.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: Are these roles remote and full-time?

Yes. The roles on this page are explicitly listed as Remote and FULL_TIME, aligned with Rex.zone job listings and the metadata under the job heading.

  • Q: Do I need ROS 2 experience for robotics software engineer jobs in Florianópolis?

ROS 2 experience is strongly preferred because many production robotics stacks rely on ROS 2 messaging, TF, lifecycle nodes, and Nav2/MoveIt ecosystems. Equivalent experience may be considered if you have shipped autonomy software in a comparable middleware.

  • Q: What robotics domains are most relevant for this job?

Common domains include robot perception, sensor fusion, SLAM/localization, motion planning, navigation, control systems, manipulation, and simulation-first testing in Gazebo or Isaac Sim.

  • Q: What does “Mid-Senior” typically mean for these positions?

Mid-Senior candidates usually have a track record of shipping robotics features to real hardware, owning modules end-to-end, improving performance and reliability, and collaborating across hardware, embedded, and ML teams.

  • Q: What should I include in my application to stand out?

Include shipped robotics outcomes (e.g., improved localization accuracy, reduced navigation failures, higher runtime stability), your ROS 2 experience, sensor and platform details, and evidence of testing practices such as CI, simulation regression tests, and log-driven debugging.
