About the Role

As a Robotics Technician supporting Mexico operations, you will maintain and troubleshoot robotic cells, automation equipment, and supporting electrical and mechanical systems. You will work with controls engineers, manufacturing engineering, and vendors to diagnose faults, reduce downtime, and standardize maintenance procedures. Although marked Remote, the work supports Mexico-based plants and integrators through remote triage, documentation, and coordinated on-site interventions when required by local teams.

Key Responsibilities

You will: own preventive maintenance plans for robotic systems and automation peripherals; troubleshoot robot faults, servo alarms, IO issues, and safety circuits; review PLC and HMI status for root-cause analysis and recovery steps; calibrate sensors, vision triggers, end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), and torque/position feedback; coordinate spares strategy for critical components (drives, encoders, sensors, cables, EOAT parts); support commissioning and line changeovers with run-off checklists and validation; create and maintain SOPs, PM checklists, wiring updates, and as-built documentation; analyze downtime trends, MTBF/MTTR, and OEE impacts; ensure compliance with LOTO, guarding, interlocks, E-stops, and risk assessments; partner with integrators and vendors for firmware updates, controller backups, and service tickets.

Required Qualifications

Mid-to-senior experience as a robotics technician, automation technician, or maintenance technician supporting industrial robots and automated lines. Strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, and controls domains, including reading electrical schematics and interpreting IO. Hands-on familiarity with PLC troubleshooting concepts, safety relays, motor drives, and industrial networking fundamentals. Comfortable documenting work orders, fault trees, and corrective actions in a CMMS or ticketing workflow.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with common robot platforms (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa/Motoman, Universal Robots) and typical automation stacks (servo drives, VFDs, photoeyes, proximity sensors, safety scanners). Exposure to vision systems for robotic guidance and inspection. Experience supporting multi-site operations in Mexico, including coordination with local maintenance teams and integrators. Familiarity with reliability engineering practices, spare-parts optimization, and continuous improvement (Lean/TPM).

Tools and Workflows

You will use structured troubleshooting methods (5 Whys, fault isolation, error log analysis), controller backups and restore procedures, maintenance checklists, and standardized commissioning/acceptance tests. You will collaborate through remote diagnostics, video walkthroughs, and shared documentation. Typical artifacts include PM schedules, safety verification checklists, alarm libraries, wiring/IO maps, and corrective action reports.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range is 63360 to 126720 USD per year, based on skills and scope. This is a full-time remote role with a technology-industry engineering function. Benefits and specific allowances may vary by assignment and client site requirements.

How to Apply on Rex.zone
