Job Overview

Title: Robotics Engineer (Rio De Janeiro) Date: 25-02-2026 Company: Rexzone Country: US Remote Type: Remote Employment Type: FULL_TIME Experience Level: Mid-Senior Industry: Technology Job Function: Engineering Skills: ROS2, C++, Python, Motion Planning, SLAM, Sensor Fusion, Computer Vision, Gazebo, Docker, Linux Salary Currency: USD Salary Min: 63360 Salary Max: 126720 Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

You will design, implement, and validate robotics software and systems that run reliably across simulation and real-world environments. The work includes integrating perception (computer vision, SLAM), planning (path planning, motion planning), and controls into an end-to-end autonomy stack; developing robust interfaces for sensors and actuators; and improving performance through profiling, testing, and iterative experiments. You will contribute to engineering documentation, build reproducible pipelines (CI, containers), and partner with adjacent teams to deliver safe and maintainable robotics functionality.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver production-quality robotics features across perception, planning, and control. Own ROS2 node design, message interfaces, and integration with hardware drivers. Develop and tune SLAM, localization, and sensor fusion modules for robust state estimation. Implement motion planning and navigation behaviors; validate in simulation and on-target systems. Create automated tests, scenario-based evaluation, and regression suites to protect performance. Build repeatable deployment workflows using Linux, Docker, and CI-friendly tooling. Investigate field issues using logs, telemetry, and profiling; propose corrective actions. Write clear technical documentation, runbooks, and engineering specs for maintainability.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience shipping robotics or autonomy software. Strong C++ and Python programming with debugging and performance optimization skills. Hands-on experience with ROS2, Linux, and software integration patterns. Background in at least two areas: SLAM/localization, sensor fusion, motion planning, computer vision, controls. Experience with simulation tools (e.g., Gazebo) and reproducible environments (Docker). Ability to design tests and evaluate robotics performance using metrics and experimental rigor. Clear communication and remote collaboration habits (async updates, documented decisions).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with autonomous mobile robots, manipulators, or industrial robotics deployments. Familiarity with real-time constraints, hardware timing, and driver-level troubleshooting. Exposure to safety practices, fault tolerance, and reliability engineering for robotics. Experience integrating ML perception models into robotics pipelines. Knowledge of mapping, route planning, and multi-sensor calibration workflows.

Tools and Tech Stack

ROS2, C++, Python, Linux, Docker, Gazebo, computer vision pipelines, SLAM toolchains, motion planning frameworks, sensor fusion patterns, logging/telemetry, CI testing.

How to Apply on Rex.zone

Apply through Rex.zone by submitting your resume and a brief summary of robotics projects you have shipped. Include links to repositories or technical write-ups when available.
