About the Role

You will develop and maintain ROS/ROS2 nodes and systems for logistics robotics applications, including autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and robotic workcells. Work spans perception pipelines (camera/LiDAR), localization and mapping (SLAM), navigation and path planning, and integration with warehouse systems (WMS), fleet managers, and safety layers. You will collaborate with hardware, controls, and QA teams to deliver reliable robot behavior from simulation through on-site deployment.

What You Will Do

Build ROS2 packages, nodes, and launch files for robot bring-up, autonomy, and diagnostics; implement and tune navigation stack components (costmaps, planners, recovery behaviors) for warehouse environments; develop SLAM/localization workflows using LiDAR/vision and map management; integrate sensors via drivers and middleware, ensuring accurate TF frames, timestamps, and calibration; create simulation scenarios in Gazebo/Ignition and validate behavior with repeatable test runs; implement robot observability (logs, metrics, rosbag workflows) to debug field issues and reduce downtime; collaborate on fleet integration, mission execution, and interfaces to REST/gRPC services where applicable; follow engineering best practices: code review, versioning, CI/CD, and structured release processes.

Required Qualifications

Professional experience developing robotics software with ROS or ROS2; strong C++ and Python skills for real-time robotics workflows; hands-on knowledge of SLAM, localization, and navigation concepts; experience working with common robotics tools (URDF, TF2, RViz, rosbag); comfort with Linux development environments and Git-based collaboration; ability to diagnose multi-layer robot issues spanning software, sensors, and hardware interfaces.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience deploying AMRs/AGVs in logistics or industrial environments; familiarity with motion planning frameworks and constraints in tight warehouse aisles; experience with perception pipelines (OpenCV, PCL, point cloud processing, sensor fusion); containerization and deployment workflows (Docker) and automated testing for robotics; understanding of safety considerations, fail-safes, and operational monitoring; experience integrating with fleet management, WMS, or mission orchestration systems.

Tools and Tech You May Use

ROS2, colcon, rclcpp/rclpy, Nav2, SLAM toolchains, Gazebo/Ignition, RViz, URDF/Xacro, TF2, OpenCV, PCL, LiDAR/camera drivers, Linux, Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines, logging and telemetry systems.

How Success Is Measured

Improved robot uptime and fewer autonomy incidents in production; consistent navigation performance across maps and dynamic obstacles; reproducible simulation-to-real validation with clear test artifacts; reduced mean time to diagnose issues using logs, rosbags, and metrics; stable releases that meet safety and operational constraints for logistics robotics deployments.
