LinkedIn Job Metadata: Title: Senior Robotics Engineer Jobs | Date: 25-02-2026 | Company: Rexzone | Country: US | Remote Type: Remote | Employment Type: FULL_TIME | Experience Level: Mid-Senior | Industry: Technology | Job Function: Engineering | Skills: Robotics, ROS2, C++, Python, Motion Planning, SLAM, Sensor Fusion, Computer Vision, Control Systems, Gazebo, Isaac Sim, Linux | Salary Currency: USD | Salary Min: 63360 | Salary Max: 126720 | Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

As a Senior Robotics Engineer, you will architect and implement robot autonomy features across perception, planning, and control. You will build robust ROS/ROS2 nodes, integrate sensors (cameras, LiDAR, IMU, encoders), and ship reliable behaviors in real environments. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and product partners to define interfaces, validation plans, and deployment processes for remote-first robotics teams.

Key Responsibilities

You will: design and maintain ROS/ROS2-based autonomy stacks; implement localization, mapping, and SLAM pipelines; develop motion planning and trajectory optimization for dynamic environments; build perception modules using computer vision and sensor fusion; tune control loops and state estimators for stability and performance; create simulation environments and test harnesses (Gazebo, Isaac Sim) to reproduce field issues; establish logging, telemetry, and debugging workflows for fleet learning and regression analysis; write production-quality C++/Python code with CI, code review, and documentation; partner on safety, reliability, and fail-safe behaviors for hardware deployment.

Required Qualifications

You have: 5+ years of robotics software engineering or equivalent experience delivering deployed robotic systems; strong C++ and Python proficiency on Linux; hands-on ROS/ROS2 expertise including TF, Nav2/MoveIt (as applicable), message design, and real-time considerations; experience with SLAM/localization (EKF/UKF, factor graphs, scan matching), and sensor fusion; familiarity with motion planning (A*, RRT*, MPC, trajectory smoothing) and control (PID, LQR); ability to debug hardware-software integration issues with logs and instrumentation; experience designing APIs and ownership boundaries across perception, planning, and control modules.

Preferred Qualifications

You may also have: experience deploying to embedded compute (Jetson, x86 edge) and managing performance constraints; knowledge of calibration (camera intrinsics/extrinsics), time synchronization, and coordinate frames; familiarity with safety standards, fault detection, and redundancy patterns; experience with multi-robot coordination, fleet management, or cloud robotics; exposure to learning-based robotics (imitation learning, RL) and sim-to-real workflows; background in testing methodologies for robotics including HIL/SIL, bag replay, and scenario-based evaluation.

Tools and Tech Stack

Common stacks include: ROS/ROS2, C++, Python, Linux, Git, CI/CD; perception with OpenCV and point cloud processing; planning with Nav2/MoveIt and custom planners; simulation with Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or similar; visualization with RViz; observability via structured logging, metrics, and bagging; containerization and reproducible builds where needed.

Remote Work and Collaboration

These are remote, full-time roles. You will work asynchronously with distributed teams, participate in design reviews and incident retrospectives, and maintain clear documentation and testable interfaces. Some positions may involve periodic travel for hardware integration, field testing, or onsite validation depending on the robot platform.

Compensation

Salary Range: 63360 to 126720 USD per year, based on role scope, domain specialization, and interview performance. Exact compensation may vary by team, location constraints, and responsibilities.

How to Apply on Rex.zone

Apply via Rex.zone with a resume highlighting deployed robotics projects, ROS/ROS2 modules you owned, and measurable outcomes (navigation success rate, localization error, uptime, latency, or safety improvements). Include links to code samples, publications, demos, or technical write-ups when available.
