STEM Engineering Jobs in the United States — Remote Full-Time

Title: Remote STEM Engineer (United States) Date: 25-02-2026 Company: Rexzone Country: US Remote Type: Remote Employment Type: FULL_TIME Experience Level: Mid-Senior Industry: Technology Job Function: Engineering Skills: Systems design, Software engineering, Cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Python, Data engineering, MLOps Salary Currency: USD Salary Min: 63360 Salary Max: 126720 Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

You will contribute to end-to-end engineering delivery for US-based remote programs, covering requirements, design reviews, implementation, testing strategy, deployment, and operational monitoring. The work spans modern engineering domains (software engineering, cloud engineering, data engineering, and MLOps) and intersects with AI/ML product delivery where relevant—such as building data pipelines, evaluation tooling, and service infrastructure for LLM-powered features. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define acceptance criteria, meet quality standards, and ensure maintainable, secure systems.

What You Will Do

Design and implement scalable services and APIs with clear interfaces and versioning. Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using IaC practices and secure defaults. Create CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and release processes for reliable delivery. Improve observability with logs, metrics, tracing, and alerting tied to SLOs. Collaborate with data, AI/ML, and QA teams on integration testing and performance validation. Support platform workflows that may include model evaluation tooling, prompt evaluation harnesses, and data quality checks for LLM training pipelines. Participate in code reviews, incident response, postmortems, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a STEM field. Mid-senior experience delivering production software or platform systems. Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, Java, Go, or similar). Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization. Strong understanding of testing, debugging, performance profiling, and secure coding. Ability to communicate clearly in distributed, remote engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Kubernetes, service mesh, or distributed systems. Hands-on work with data engineering stacks (ETL/ELT, orchestration, warehousing). MLOps exposure (model deployment, monitoring, feature stores) and AI/ML evaluation workflows. Familiarity with NLP, computer vision, content safety, or LLM-based product features. Experience building internal tooling for QA evaluation, annotation guidelines compliance, or training data quality checks.

How Success Is Measured

On-time delivery of well-tested features aligned to requirements. Improved reliability, latency, and cost efficiency of production systems. Reduced incident frequency and faster recovery through better automation. High-quality engineering documentation, runbooks, and maintainable code. Measurable model performance improvement enablement when supporting AI/ML systems through robust pipelines and evaluation tooling.

Work Environment

Remote within the United States with a full-time schedule. You will collaborate asynchronously with structured handoffs, documented decisions, and regular engineering ceremonies. The role remains Remote and aligned to Technology industry and Engineering job function.
