Open Role: Warehouse Robotics Engineer (Remote, Full-Time)

Title: Warehouse Robotics Engineer Date: 25-02-2026 Company: Rexzone Country: US Remote Type: Remote Employment Type: FULL_TIME Experience Level: Mid-Senior Industry: Technology Job Function: Engineering Skills: warehouse robotics, AMR navigation, SLAM, ROS2, motion planning, computer vision, LiDAR sensor fusion, fleet management, simulation, safety systems Salary Currency: USD Salary Min: 63360 Salary Max: 126720 Pay Period: YEAR

About the Role

You will design and improve warehouse robotics systems used in fulfillment operations, including AMR navigation, robotic picking assistance, and fleet orchestration. The work spans robotics software engineering, real-time systems, and production operations: building perception and localization pipelines, tuning planners, integrating sensors (LiDAR, camera, IMU), and validating performance with simulation and on-robot tests. You will partner with operations, product, and QA to deliver measurable gains in warehouse throughput, path efficiency, and safety compliance, while ensuring reliable deployment practices for multi-robot fleets.

Key Responsibilities

Own core robotics capabilities including mapping, localization, SLAM, motion planning, and obstacle avoidance for warehouse environments. Improve perception and sensor fusion pipelines for robust navigation in dynamic aisles, racks, and mixed human-robot traffic. Build and maintain ROS2-based components, interfaces, and tooling for robot bring-up, telemetry, and remote debugging. Develop simulation and test harnesses to reproduce edge cases and validate releases before field deployment. Optimize fleet behavior through task allocation, traffic management, congestion control, and recovery behaviors. Define metrics for model performance improvement such as route efficiency, localization accuracy, intervention rate, and mean time to recovery. Collaborate with safety and compliance stakeholders to implement and verify safety systems, fail-safes, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience shipping robotics or autonomy software to production environments. Strong proficiency in Python and/or C++ with practical debugging skills in distributed systems. Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS2, robot middleware, and message-driven architectures. Solid understanding of SLAM, localization, motion planning, and controls fundamentals for mobile robots. Experience working with sensors such as LiDAR, depth cameras, IMU, and wheel odometry; familiarity with sensor calibration and time synchronization. Demonstrated ability to build reliable software under real-world constraints (latency, noise, failure modes, hardware variance).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with warehouse automation, logistics robotics, or fulfillment center operations (WMS/WCS integration). Familiarity with computer vision for detection, tracking, or pose estimation in industrial settings. Experience with fleet management systems, multi-robot coordination, and traffic control strategies. Exposure to simulation platforms (Gazebo, Isaac Sim, Webots) and CI pipelines for robotics testing. Knowledge of functional safety practices and risk assessments for human-robot collaboration.

Work Modifiers and Role Fit

This posting targets remote, full-time warehouse robotics jobs and is best for engineers who can operate across software, testing, and deployment. If you are looking for contract, freelance, entry-level, or senior roles, Rex.zone also aggregates robotics and automation openings across AI labs, tech startups, system integrators, and automation vendors; your profile can be matched to the right employment type when available.

How to Apply on Rex.zone

Apply through Rex.zone by submitting your resume and a brief summary of your robotics production experience (navigation stack, SLAM approach, planners, sensor suite, and test strategy). Include links to repositories, publications, or demos when possible. Applicants may be asked to complete a practical systems or autonomy exercise focused on warehouse navigation reliability and edge-case handling.
