About the Role

This role is an entity-level data labeling position focused on producing high-quality annotations for NLP, computer vision, and content safety workflows. You will collaborate with AI labs, tech startups, BPOs, and annotation vendors through Rex.zone to deliver reliable, consistent labels that feed LLM training pipelines and supervised learning systems.

Key Responsibilities

Execute labeling tasks with training data quality as the core objective, follow detailed annotation guidelines compliance, conduct prompt evaluation and RLHF preference ranking, perform QA evaluation on completed tasks, document edge cases and ambiguities, contribute to taxonomy and ontology alignment, and support model performance improvement via large language model evaluation and feedback loops.

Required Skills & Tools

Strong attention to detail and consistency, reading comprehension and critical thinking, familiarity with NLP, NER, sentiment analysis, classification, CV bounding boxes and polygon segmentation, and content safety labeling. Comfort with annotation platforms such as Label Studio, Prodigy, Scale, SuperAnnotate, or equivalent; basic spreadsheet skills; understanding of privacy and PII handling; optional scripting for workflow efficiency.

Domains & Project Types

NLP tasks including named entity recognition, sentiment and intent classification, prompt evaluation, RLHF pairwise ranking and preference modeling; computer vision annotation including object detection, segmentation, image categorization; content safety labeling covering policy compliance, harmful or unsafe content detection; audio and text transcription; multilingual labeling as available.

Work Modalities & Modifiers

Remote-first with flexible hours; part-time contract and freelance arrangements; pathways to full-time for consistent performers; roles available from entry-level to senior reviewers and QA leads; opportunities to work with AI labs, tech startups, BPOs, and specialized annotation vendors across NLP, computer vision, content safety, and LLM training contexts.

Quality & Compliance

Emphasis on annotation guidelines compliance, inter-annotator agreement, rigorous QA evaluation, and repeatable workflows. You will follow secure data handling practices, confidentiality requirements, and policy-aligned labeling standards designed to ensure reliable training data quality for production systems.

Compensation & Schedule

Competitive hourly and task-based rates with performance bonuses depending on project and region. Typical ranges: USD $12–25 per hour for general labeling; higher rates for senior QA, complex CV annotation, and policy expert reviews. Part-time hours are flexible and scheduled via Rex.zone task queues.

Application Process

Create your candidate profile on Rex.zone, complete a short skills check and sample annotation tasks, review and accept project-specific guidelines, sign contract and confidentiality agreements, then begin remote work through the platform. Successful contributors may be invited to senior or QA evaluation tracks.
